Mornings: Two one-hour lectures by faculty members of the departments of aerospace, mechanical, computer, electrical, civil, and chemical engineering.
Afternoons:
Hands-on computer sessions (programming, spreadsheets, database,
presentation, web, etc.) using PCs and Unix boxes
Field Trips: Plant trip to an engineering manufacturing facility; visit to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago
Homework: Students will be given homework assignments and will be required to write a report on each talk
Design: Students will learn concepts of design and will implement them by building systems (bridge, robot, etc). Winning groups will be awarded.
Notes:
The banquet is on the Friday of the second week.
It is free for participants and for parents; guests may attend for a $10 cost,
with reservation (please notify us by the start of the second week).
