Itinerary

Mornings: Two one-hour lectures by faculty members of the departments of aerospace, mechanical, computer, electrical, civil, and chemical engineering.

Afternoons:

Hands-on computer sessions (programming, spreadsheets, database, presentation, web, etc.) using PCs and Unix boxes

• Hands-on work in the Engineering Learning Center

Each Thursday: Plant trip to an engineering manufacturing facility (first and second week)

Homework: Students will be given homework assignments and will be required to write a report on each talk

Design: Students will learn concepts of design and will implement them by building systems (circuit, beam, robot, etc). Contest winners will be rewarded.

Presentation: Students will team up in groups and work on a topic which they will then present to the class in the third week

Notes:

Weekends are free, during which students may spend it with parents if the IEP director is notified. IEP counselors will be organizing events during free time.

The banquet is on the Wednesday of the third week. It is free for participants and for parents; guests may attend for a $10 cost, with reservation.

Students may, if they wish, stay until Friday of the third week.
